What types of surgery does your hospital offer?

Our team offers different types of surgeries for our patients within our facilities. For certain procedures that we cannot perform in-house, we do refer our patients to other veterinary teams in our region. Below are some of the procedures that we currently perform at our practice:

  • Spay and neuters
  • How should I prepare my dog/cat/pet for their surgery?

The steps that you need to take really depends on your pet’s specific case and the type of procedure that they are scheduled to have. Our team will make sure that you have all of the information you need to prep your pet. To give you an idea, for some pets we may suggest that they are bathed before the surgery, since the area usually needs to be kept dry for several days after. Some pets may also have to take certain medications the night before surgery. The morning of their procedure, it is also usually recommended that pets do not eat or drink.

How long does surgery take in dogs/cats/pets?

The length of the procedure truly depends with each pet and their specific needs. Spays, for example, take approximately 45 minutes to complete. In comparison, other more complicated surgeries can last for about 4 hours. As always, please feel free to contact our team and we will be happy answer any of your questions and inquiries.
